Julia Elizabeth Beer Grooms passed away early Friday December 30, 2022, at the age of 61. A lifetime San Antonian, she was born on June 11, 1961, to James Paul and Samantha (Anderson) Beer. She had three sisters Rebecca Ziller, Sarah Dickerson, and Marthe Anderson. She is survived by her husband of 38 years Matthew W. Grooms, sister Marthe Anderson, aunts Linda Beer, Christiana Davis, Lexie Altgelt, mother-in-law Emily Thompson Grooms, and pets Molly & Roscoe. “Julie” loved animals (Woof-n-Chirp), cooking (New Braunfels Smokehouse), hunting & fishing (camp cook), and partying (NIOSA Queso Flameado booth). She had sparkling green eyes, was quite a character, and a loving companion to her husband. “Jewel” will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. Rest in peace, “Peanut”. You will be forever loved.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 1:30 pm at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. A reception will follow at the church.
