Julia "Evelyn" Hall, a longtime resident of San Antonio, passed away December 13, 2016, at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John Roland Hall; her parents, Thomas and Sarah (Phillips) McCollum; and siblings, Louise, Billie, Frankie, and Tommy. She is survived by her daughter, Patsy (Jimmy) McClelland of San Antonio; granddaughter, Jessie (Cody) Dotson of Weatherford, TX; grandson, Kyle McClelland of Selma, TX; and sister, Kathie McCoy of Pflugerville, TX.
Mrs. Hall was born June 3, 1928, in Groesbeck, TX. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Agua Dulce in South Texas. Evelyn spent most of her married life in San Antonio and on their ranch in Luckenbach. She selflessly devoted herself to others and found great joy in opening her home to family and friends for many memorable celebrations and reunions. Fiercely independent, she found freedom in driving and traveling. Evelyn was, above all, a model of strength and perseverance.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt gratitude to Evelyn's caregivers for their loving care and devotion over the past 5 years. They were our angels. The family is also very grateful to the caring staff at Hope Hospice of New Braunfels.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2016 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
