

Julio H. Aguilar, age 82, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. Julio was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 30, 1940 to parents Jose Maria Aguilar and Virginia Hernandez Aguilar. Julio grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Fox Tech High School. After high school Julio worked for the Texas Highway Department. He eventually found his way into the Engineering and construction industry where he found his passion for testing soils as a geological laboratory engineering technician for over 40 years. He attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic church for over 40 years and served as a member of the Knights of Columbus ultimately becoming a Fourth Degree Knight. Family, Faith and Community filled Julio’s life. Julio was involved in the John Jay High School Band Boosters for 10 years as all three of his kids were involved in Marching, Concert and Jazz Bands. Julio was a member of the Valley Hi Optimist Club for over 30 years. With the Optimist Club he worked to raise funds for scholarships and other needs for children in our community. Julio loved to garden, grill, hunt, fish, sing, and watch sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Jose Maria Aguilar and Virginia Hernandez Aguilar; granddaughter, Marlowe Keiko Aguilar Buell. Julio is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rosalinda Aguilar; sons, Julio A. Aguilar and Gabriel Aguilar (Gail Aguilar); daughter, Laura Aguilar (Steven Buell); siblings, Joe M. Aguilar; grandchildren, Ronin Aguilar, Max Aguilar and Margaux Buell; Julio will be greatly missed by those who had the honor of knowing him, laughing with him and working with him. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Wednesday, December 28th, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
