

Julio F. Garcia, age 89, of San Antonio, Texas, died on Thursday, January 17, 2013. He was born to Antonio and Carlota Garcia on April 12, 1923 in Mexico. Julio came to the U.S. as an adult and began his training as a plumber. A hard worker, he began his own business and became a Master Plumber. In his down time he ranched a small property, raising animals, hay and other products. Every Fiesta, Julio opened his own BBQ booth whose great smells brought everyone out of the courthouse to buy his brisket. Julio was dedicated to his church, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, his family and his work. He will be missed by many. Julio is survived by his daughters, Mary Esther Hernandez and husband, Juan J., Diana Garcia and Aida Guzman and husband, Walter; son, Julio Garcia; grandchildren, Ashley, David, Daniel, Eric, Michael, Kristine, Sandra, Erika, Kimberly and Amanda; great grandchildren, Tatyana, Andres, Jaime, Laela, Annalysia and Christian; brother, Antonio; sister, Virginia. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring.
