

Justin Baeza, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, soldier, and friend, will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his devotion to serving his country, and his kind and generous spirit. His life was marked by hard work, service, and a genuine desire to help those around him.
Justin was the beloved husband and college sweetheart of Veronica Baeza. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a devoted father to their children, Frank and Victoria, and took great pride in being their dad. Above all else, Justin treasured his family and the time they spent together, especially gathered around a campfire.
Justin earned both a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. and a Master of Arts in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio. During his youth, he worked for several employers, including Ancira Sports Park and Pearson Assessments. After completing his education, he began a career with USAA, where he worked for more than 10 years and built a career he was proud of.
Justin also dedicated himself to serving his country through the Texas Army National Guard. He enlisted on April 1, 2011, and completed Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where he earned the distinction of Top Soldier of his class. He went on to complete officer training through the Texas Army National Guard and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on August 3, 2013. In 2014, he completed his MOS training at Fort Lee, Virginia, becoming a Logistics Officer. He was promoted to Lieutenant on February 3, 2015, and to Captain on September 15, 2020.
In 2019, Justin deployed to Mount Sinai, Egypt, where he proudly served as part of the Multinational Force. From 2021 through 2024, he served as Company Commander of the 386th Engineer Battalion. He took great pride in his military service and in the opportunity to serve his country, his state, and the people around him. Throughout his military career, Justin earned numerous awards and honors, including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and several Army Reserve Components Achievement Medals.
Outside of his professional and military accomplishments, Justin was a true outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and skeet shooting. Taught by his daddy at a young age, Justin became an excellent marksman and carried that passion throughout his life. He was a member of the San Antonio Hunting and Fishing Target Club, where he served as Treasurer and especially enjoyed Thursday evenings spent with fellow members.
Justin inherited his mother’s green thumb and found joy in gardening. He was also an excellent cook who loved preparing meals for his children. He enjoyed watching movies with his wife, taking family trips, and creating memories with the people he loved. A lifelong lover of history, Justin particularly enjoyed visiting historical battlefields and sites during his military training in Virginia. He also had a special love for animals and, in his later years, found great joy in raising egg-laying chickens and caring for his beloved Labrador, Duke.
Justin will be remembered for his devoted service to his country, his state, and, most importantly, his family. He was hardworking, kind hearted, and always willing to help those around him. His legacy will live on through the family he loved so deeply, the people he served alongside, the friendships he formed, and the countless memories he created throughout his life.
Justin is survived by his beloved wife, Veronica Baeza; their children, Frank and Victoria Baeza; his mother, Margaret McGuire, and stepfather, Mark McGuire; his brother, Jeremy Baeza, and sister-in-law, Tanae Baeza; his sister, Krista Cornman, brother-in-law, Chris Cornman, and nephew, Grantham Cornman; his in-laws, Louis and Concepcion Alvarado; and his grandmother, Adele Kulawik. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loved ones from the Baeza, Leal, Chavez, Street, Kulawik, Batto, and Barrett families, along with many friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Justin was preceded in death by his father, Frank Xavier Baeza; his grandfather, Francis Kulawik; his grandmother, Italia Baeza; and his grandfather, Alvaro Baeza.
Though Justin’s absence will be deeply felt, the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the memories he created will remain forever. His greatest legacy is the family he loved, the country he served, and the people who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Rosary will be recited at Sunset North Funeral Home, Morning Glory Chapel, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232, on September 24, 2026, at 10:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location on September 24, 2026, at 11:00 am.
A Reception will take place at Sunset North Funeral Home, Marigold Reception Room, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232, on September 24, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:15 pm, followed by a Procession on September 24, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
A Committal Service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches, San Antonio, Texas 78266, on September 24, 2026, at 2:00 pm; procession from Sunset North Funeral Home to Holy Cross Cemetery to begin promptly at 1:30 PM.
