Karen was born November 16, 1954 and is survived by her mother Barbara Baird Sylvester, her sister Sharon Leah Bruster and three nieces Ashlea, Avery, and Allie Bruster.
Karen graduated from the University of Northern Colorado and was an Art Teacher for over 33 years and continued to substitute teach even after retiring.
Although Karen remained a private person, her closest friends and family would describe her as a reliable, loving, and giving individual. Karen was always involved in the accomplishments of her nieces and was there to lend a hand in any situation.
Like the rest of her family, Karen shared a love for animals. Whether it was the horse she had as a child, the many cats she had as she grew older, or the two dogs she left behind. Sophie and Dusty were two of Karen's best friends that spent the last few years of her life with her loving her unconditionally.
Karen was greatly loved and will truly be missed.
