I didn't know until now that Mrs. Keller 
had passed away. She was my neighbor for years. I grew up with Julie and Amy and to me she was my grandmother too. I am so sorry for your loss. She was a great lady. I have fond memories of her and charlie. I will miss her. She was a sweet lady.

She always had a smile that was warm and comforting. She always knew how to make me laugh when I was young. My Aunt Kari will be greatly missed. She joins Uncle Charlie and her son, John. Make they keep the light shining bright. Kisses & Hugs- Always and Forever. Your neice- Ruthie

From all the staff and members of Forest Waters Club, we want to express our sincere sympathy to Kari's family. She was a wonderful woman, always friendly and smiling. She will be sorely missed.

We have so many fond memories of our times with both Kari and Charlie while they lived in Hastings. We especially remember their wonderful hospitality when we visited them in San Antonio. Kari was a very bright and interesting lady. The first time I met her was playing bridge and we had many great bridge games after that. We know how she loved her children and how much you will all miss her. We certainly will, too!

We remember Kari and all the good times we had togather as couples in Hastings and at our cabins in Wisconsin, snowmobiling, fishing, playing bridge, enjoying good food and looking after our children and dogs. We remember with joy a great week with them at Saranac Lake boating the locks, fishing, moutain climbing, working on the cabin and good food. 
We spent a few days with Kari at her home in San Antonio a few years ago and could tell she was where she wanted to be. 
Kari had an interesting life well lived. She was a model of dedication to her husband, children and friends. She will be missed but we know she is now at peace.

I have many great memories of my grandmother, whether it is the cabin in WI or swimming in her pool in Hastings. But the summer I spent with her while attending school for the Air Force in TX was and will always be my fondest memory! I will miss her deeply. She will always be remembered for her unconditional love. She always had a positive outlook on life everyday. Always had a smile. We had many great laughs together through the years. She will be missed by many.

To the Family of Kari Ann Keller,. I was stunned when I opened your note and read Kari had passed away. Of all my friends and Kappa sorority sisters at NU, Kari had the most life and energy. pep and enthusiasm. It was impossible she could have died. I am sure she fought hard to live. I remember her well. She was in Willard Hall with many of us during our freshman year, and then Kari and I were roommates beginning of Sophomore year at the Kappa house. I haven't seen her much since college years, but recently we had lunch together in Phoenix, Arizona. She hadn't changed-still the unique Kari Hjermstad Keller personality. I met Kari and her family at the age of 5 in Vacaville, CA where we were next door neighbors. Over the years, our two families connected off and on as both Dad's served in the USAF. Its been many years since our last face-to-face connection, but I have fond memories of the Keller clan and my thoughts are with them at this difficult time. I remember Kari as a strong, loving, intelligent woman with a wonderful sense of humour and a real zest for life. I hope this message reaches the Keller family, especially Donald and Lori who may remember me as one of the little girls next door in California. Kari was a very special person and a delight to know and be with. She and I were members of Kappa Kappa Gamma at Northwestern and shared the same religious upbringing. Indeed whe will be missed, but most certainly remembered for her wonderful character and dedication to her family and friends.

May God's special comfort be with your whole family in the loss of Kari Ann. As first cousins, she and I shared similarities. Kari was born first in 1931, so she was named after our great grandmother Kari Ness. I was born later on that year in October and was named after our grandmother Sigrid Hjermstad. As rising high school seniors, we were each chosen by our respective school to attend Girls' Nation in Washington, DC. And after we were married, Kari had one child and then twin sons; I too had one child and then twin sons. Kari beat me, however, with a fourth child, Paul Eric. She also beat me with many more grandchildren -- I have only three -- not to mention her great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. We enjoyed happy family gatherings together as we grew up, even though Kari lived in Montana and I in Minnesota. I shall always cherish those wonderful memories.

Your mother was a dear confidant, bridge partner, and all around crazy, fun friend to me for the years we both lived in Hastings. I admired, respected, and loved her dearly and am sorry for the great loss to her family.

Kari will always be remembered for her happy personality! Not only was she extremely bright but so beautiful, Navy Ball Queen at N.U.She will be missed by her many Kappa friends.

Mrs. Keller was and will always be one of the biggest inspirations on my life. I grew up next door to her and she was always the Grandma I never had. You know, the kind that would bake you homemade cookies for no reason at all, or the kind that would always take your side in a delimma. She spoke the truth about the world and most of all loved to learn. She told me once that "you must live with no regrets becuase what every decision you made in the past, was made with the best knowledge and information that you had at that moment; therefore, there was no reason to wish you had done different." The day she told me this, changed my life.

We wish to extend our greatest sympathies to the family of Ms Keller and will miss seeing her walk chiquita banana to the mailbox. God bless to you all and you will be in our prayers.

Kari will be very missed by all she came in contact with. What I remember most is she always had a smile on her face and put smiles on others. She never judged, she always accepted people for who they were and brought out the best in them. When I married her granddauhter, she not only accepted me, but my daughter and son from day one and treated us all with the same love as her own. I will miss you Kari, as do Jenny and Tyler. You showed us a whole new way to live. Rest well. Thank you for being part of the best 10 years of my life.

The other day a neighbor stopped by Kari's house to offer her condolences to the family. She shared this simple and loving message with us. She said " Kari lived a very special life,she was loved from her first breath to her last breath". I was fortunate to be there to love Kari for her last. One of the most beautiful emotions she always shared with me was her unconditional compassion, now I really understand how powerful that can be. I am so greatfull to her for so many things but most of all for her daughter Lori. Together they have made my life a "special" life worth living. I will deeply miss her and honor her memory for the rest of my life..

We were fortunate to have known this lady. We enjoyed many times playing bridge with her and we will certain miss her smile and good cheer.

Kari was a wonderful person who loved people, especially her family. I will always remember her for keeping me on my toes at Forest Waters Club. If the swimming pool was not in good shape, I could count on Kari letting me know about it. I enjoyed getting to know both she and Charles when they routinely played Bridge at the Club. Kari always made a point to say hello and ask how I was doing. I am grateful to have had the opportunity enjoy her warm personality. God Bless.

Rocky and I cherish the many happy times we have spent with Kari and Charlie. They will live with us forever. Our love to all the family.

Our family is small but very close and my fondest childhood memories include my Uncle Charlie and Aunt Kari and all my cousins, Lori, Donald, John and Paul Eric. Aunt Kari was a vibrant, intelligent woman with an infectious laugh. She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother and aunt and we will miss her dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of her family during this time of great loss.

Today we are remembering at our weekly bridge game how many times Kari filled in for one of us. As our favorite "sub" she will be sincerely missed. We send our heartfelt condolences to the family.

A huge part of the woman I am today, I became because of my Grandmothers Wisdom, Strength and Love. My Grandma was filled with warm hugs and sweet memories. She remembered all of my accomplishments and forgave all of my mistakes. She was someone I could tell my secrets and worries to, and she hoped and prayed that all my dreams came true. She always loved you, no matter what. She saw past bad choices and made it clear that they didn't affect how precious you were to her. She was an encouraging word and a tender touch. She was full of proud smiles. She was the one person in the world who loved you with all her heart, who remembered the child you were and cherished the person you grew up to be. I will always hold her close to me as she always held me right next to her! I am proud to call myself her Grandaughter!
