

Karl B. O'Quinn passed from this life February 20th, 2016. He was born July 8, 1933 in Muddy Fork, Arkansas to Guy and Frances, who preceded him in death, as well as his wife, Ella, and daughter, Karen Miller.
Karl is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tony and Kathy Rasco; son-in-law, Bob Miller and grandchildren, Loreli, Michael and Christopher Miller; and one brother-in-law, Lee Woodbury.
Karl grew up in the Harlingen area. After high school, he joined the Army and served during the Korean conflict. Karl came home to continue his education at the University of Houston where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Journalism. Karl was always proud to say he was hired by Dan Cook to work in the Express-News sports department, where he eventually became Sports Editor for the Express. In retirement, he happily indulged in an untold number of books and movies and sporting events and family.
Our family wishes to thank the incredible staff at the Frank Tejeda State Veteran's Home for their ceaseless kindness and care, especially in Karl's final hours.
A graveside service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Monday, February 29, 2016, at 1:15 p.m.
