Kate Denise Callahan

Kate was born in Missoula, Montana to Joseph C. Callahan and Judith E. McDonald on 6/26/1965. She went to high school at Hellgate High School in Missoula, Montana. She joined the United States Air Force out of high school and was a veteran of the Gulf War. She joined the Air Force Reserves after 10 years of active duty. She transferred to the Army Reserves from which she retired.

Kate and Michelle Bush have been in a committed relationship since 31 January 1997 and she married Michelle on 18 July 2014 in Sante Fe, NM.

Kate graduated from UTSA in 2005 with her Masters in Psychology and from Texas State University in 2013 with her Masters in Recreational Therapy. She worked as a Recreation Therapist at Brooke Army Medical Center for a number of years. She was involved in the PVA and the ATRA. She was known for going out of her way to help others.

Kate is preceded in death by her mother Judy McDonald.

Kate is survived by her spouse Michelle Bush and her son Joshua A. Bush: her siblings Joseph Callahan III, Sean Callahan, Timothy Callahan and Jennifer Wilhem: her father Joseph C. Callahan and stepmother Mary Callahan: her nieces and nephews John, Nathan, Micah, Robert, David, Jaden, Meaghan, David, Jack and Julia.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Sunset Northwest Funeral Home.
