

Katherine Elizabeth Stout, went home to be with her Lord Jesus, Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. She was born Katherine Elizabeth Hughes in River Edge, New Jersey on March 19, 1915 to parents Percy and Margaretha Hughes. Influenced by a Christian neighbor Kay was saved at the age of 8. She went to the First Baptist Church of Hackensack, New Jersey and loved singing in the choir. She took her Niece, Barbara, to Sunday School and church. Barbara and her husband served with the Wycliffe Bible Translators in Brazil for 30 years. She also saw her mother and two brothers accept the Lord as Savior. Kay married Roland E. Stout on June 25, 1945 and moved to San Antonio, Texas. Daughter, Jeanie Kay, was born October 31, 1947. Before she married, Kay worked for the New York Life Ins. Co. in New York City. After moving to Texas she worked for the FHA. Roland was a fireman for the city of San Antonio retiring after 20 years of service. After retirement he started the Stout Plumbing Co. Kay worked as secretary for their plumbing company until the business was sold in 1969. Roland preceded her in death in 1974. After the business was sold Kay worked for USAA and GPM Life. She was an active member of the Eisenhauer Road Baptist Church teaching Children's Sunday School until the age of 80. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanie (Stout) Loomis, grandchildren, Marcia Elizabeth Loomis, Troy Loomis, Jr., wife, Christy and great-grandchild, Kara Leanne Loomis (8 yrs.); granddaughter, Janet Kay (Loomis) Dusek, husband, Jeffrey Mark Dusek and great-grandchildren, Scarlett Elizabeth Dusek (4 yrs.), and Hudson Mark Dusek (6 mos.). Also survived by niece, Mary Pitts of Spring, Texas and her daughters, Kathy and Barbara. Niece, Laura Pizzatola of Santa Fe, Texas and children, Jack, Linda, and John Otto. Nephew, Allen Luker and wife, Nan of Ft. Worth, Texas and their children, Leo, Lance and Kenneth. Niece, Melba Frances Hammock of Gunter, Texas and children, Edward and Mary Frances. Niece, Linda (Hughes) Angerson of Mahway, New Jersey. Niece, Barbara (Hughes) Borgman and husband, Don of Fishers, IN. Nephew, Don Hughes and wife, Beverly of Mercer Island, WA. A devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, she will be deeply missed.
