Katherine Schmidt Walton was born to Gus and Emma Schmidt February 23, 1933 passed away on February 12, 2016 at home peacefully at the age of 82. Katherine was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She was a graduate of Brackenridge High School and sang in a quintet. She was married to her “Prince Charming,” Frank, for 63 years.
Katherine enjoyed gardening. She loved creating beautiful cakes, cookies, and quilts. She shared her talent with the folks at Heartland of San Antonio for many years. Katherine will be remembered by lifelong friends and extended family and her church home, Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Katherine is survived by her husband, Frank H. Walton; daughter, Brenda Boyd; grandson, Bryan Boyd; daughter-in-law, Steffany Boyd; and great-grandson, Logan Boyd.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 16th from 6-8 pm at Sunset Funeral Home. There will be a private burial. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 17th at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church at 16245 Nacogdoches Rd; San Antonio, Texas.
