Kathleen Mary Bryant was born to James and Mary Bryant on November 29, 1963, in Detroit, MI. Her formative and teenage years were spent in Inkster, MI where she graduated from Inkster High School in 1981.
Known to many as “Kathy,” she immediately joined the workforce with great success in all areas of management and customer service. As a leader, Kathy was fearless, innovative and also compassionate. Through her jobs, she met a host of friends that became family and a support system over many decades. She also embraced her creative side as one of the founding members of Keepsakes by Kadee, a home décor business that produced creative wreaths and baskets for a few years.
In 1998, Kathy started a new life in San Antonio, Texas, bringing with her the same warmth and sense of humor that would be missed in her home state. Despite craving the Michigan-centric restaurants like Coney Island and White Castle, Kathy flourished in Texas where she would remain until end of life. She would also meet her true love and companion, Kevin Woods, in 2019. Their love grew even through COVID and her late in life health challenges.
While working full time, Kathy completed her BBA in Business Administration and Management at University of Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas. Her strength and drive allowed her to accomplish this personal goal and grow in her chosen career path. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed activities like hiking and shopping. Kathy additionally committed to physical fitness and worked out regularly with a crew she would soon adopt as long-term friends.
Through life, Kathy was known for her honesty, her generosity, her love of laughter and fun, as well as her deep loyalty to friends and family. Her family nicknamed her “Kee Kee” which was fitting due to her whimsical nature and bold presence. Her value as a friend, coworker and family member was immeasurable.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a brother, James Reily Bryant; a nephew, James Reshawn Bryant; a niece, Joyelle Davis-Braggs (Bernard); two great-nieces, Natalie Braggs and Andrea Braggs; a close companion and love, Kevin Woods; friends from the “Marianne crew,” friends from the “WellMed crew;” friends from her workout crew, Sheryl Womble, Sandra Cooper and many other special friends and beloved cousins.
