Kathleen Edwards Johnson

Kathleen Johnson was born My 16, 1925 to Ord and Mattie Edwards in San Antonio, Texas. She died April 18, 2023, in Fredericksburg, Texas. Kathleen graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1942. She married Ray Paul Johnson on February 27, 1970, in Bexar County Texas. They were married until the death of Ray in 2013.

Kathleen was a member of the Alamo Mission Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas from 1974 until her death. She was also a member of the Conservative Society of San Antonio since 1993. She was a member of Hunters Creek Garden Club. Kathleen served the red Cross and was awarded for over 500 hours of volunteer service in New York, Tripoli Libya, and Houston, Texas.

Kathleen loved to visit with people. She would often stop and began visiting with complete strangers. When they parted company, they were no longer strangers to her. Kathleen loved to travel and loved going to PGA golf tournaments with Ray. She and Ray really enjoyed going to the British Open at St. Andrews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Windcrest Skilled Nursing and Rehab, and the staff of Hill Country Memorial Hospice for all of the love and support they gave Kathleen.

A graveside service will take place on August 9, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road.
