

Kathleen "Kathy" Dillon Phipps passed away peacefully on Good Friday, April 10th, 2020. Kathy was 83 and has lived in San Antonio since 1973. She was born November 17, 1936 in Springfield Massachusetts to William and Mary O'Hagerty Dillon.
Kathy was a loving Mother to her six children; grandmother to 13 grandchildren; and great-grandmother to 5 great-grandchildren. She always showed love and always supported her family no matter what. Kathy also loved her cats and 4 legged members of all her extended families. On one occasion after one of the guinea pigs escaped our home in the fall in Michigan; she heard a squeak when the snow was melting and dived into a rose bush to bring the guinea pig home.
She was a wonderful housemaker and a 40+ year member of AA. Her AA family was very important to her and her example allowed many to succeed in conquering their addictions.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Colonel John Phipps; her daughters Carolyn Gold and Jan Slater; her grandson Andrew Sheedy and son-in-law Steve Slater.
Kathy is survived by her sister Mary Beth Dillon of Springfield Mass; daughters Karen Morrison and Gail Branum and husband Brian; sons Mark Sheedy and wife Paula and David Sheedy and wife Sharon; and her son-in-law Danny Gold.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; Joshua, Kimmy, Naomi, Luke, Ryan, Alexis, Anna, Robyn, Jon, Elizabeth, Ian and Natalie; and 5 great-grandchildren; Aerilyn, Jackson, Emery, Jake and Issac.
A celebration of her Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Porter Loring North. A graveside service will follow for family the at Ft. Sam Houston.
Mom was such an important part of our lives and she will be missed!
