I just saw Kay’s obituary. When I first became an educator back in Dec. 1990, Kay was my welcoming party. I signed up just to sub until I got a full time job.  She looked at me and said, “You won’t be subbing long.” Sure enough, two weeks later I was signing papers to be the ALE teacher at Thornton Elementary. Throughout the years, Kay was always my go to person even after I married and had a name change. A and D were still part of her group. Then, one day I saw her outside NISD doors, she recognized me and said hi. We were at St. Luke’s. Kay was always greeting me with a smile! 27 years later, she never forgot me! She was the one who informed me of Mr. Thornton being ill and where I could find him. She also would update me on Mr Dyas (my first administrator). Because of her I was able to visit these two men prior to their deaths. I’ll always remember her kindness and her radiant SMILE! Monica D. Aguillon

You were one amazing Lady. I loved how strong you were inside. I always saw that quality shine in you and it reassured me to know even though you faced hardships and uncertainties there was a way through and a brighter day ahead.  You were my reminder to be a little more brave and not so afraid, and to remember  that things would turn out okay.  
I love the way you didn't let the crazy, difficult days get you down. I admired your ability to put things in perspective and always tried to make things better.
I will forever treasure being in this world with you and know that everyone who knew you feels the same.
To your friends, you were everything a friend should be.  To your family, you were and are still dearly loved.
Your days with us were beautiful and bright, as the inspiration you gave to us all.  You were good to the people in your life.  Considerate and caring.  You  gave straight from the heart and because you were, the world is a nicer place.

I will never forget getting in trouble for letting Brett Ingram and Eddie Messbarger have too much to drink on Brett’s bachelor party. It seems that they broke a priceless bowl when they came home that night. Just as if she was my own mother, she politely but sternly told me that she expected better and I understood. See, she never stopped being a parent and that’s the way it should be. She was showing me that I mattered and that she cared. You are going to be greatly missed!

I had the  pleasure of being a  part of Kay’s  care for over a  year , the memories of her kindness, tenderness,, laughter and so much more will forever live on in my heart ,I loved making her laugh and she did me ,whenever she ate I had to eat to or she’d feel bad , so I gained weight working with her haha & when she was sad or feeling low , she’d say “just sing something for me “& I would and than tell her the bill is in the mail , and she’d laugh so hard , I’m gonna miss her so , even though I know she’s in a way better place where her dream of walking  has finally come to pass in heaven on streets of gold 🙏🏼♥️ may the peace & strength of our God be with all the family & loved ones always  .love & prayers .Belinda .

Ms. Kay you will be greatly missed. But never forgotten. I always love to do her makeup and give her facials when she was here with us at beehive. She always told me how she loved her family and had a great husband. Love you Ms. Kay may you RIP beautiful lady.
