Dear Scott and family,
Kathy is a treasured sister of our Nebraska Theta 1979 pledge class. Her steady nature, empathic way and of course good humor made for lots of fun in the basement mole mole, Spring break in California and dancing at the Cherry Hut.

I pray warm and happy memories of Kathy come to you in unexpected moments. Prayers of comfort. Amy Cox Schmid and Jeff

I had the pleasure of working with Kathy at Baptist Health System. When she provided updates at our committee meetings, you could see how passionate and enthusiastic she was about her work. Kathy was a beautiful lady who always had a smile on her face. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Kathy was one of my dearest friends in middle school at Arbor Heights in Omaha, Nebraska. My favorite memory with Kathy is the two weeks I spent up in Minnesota with her family at their favorite resort in the summer of 1974. She and her incredibly sweet dad, Bob, taught me how to water ski that summer. I was devastated to hear of her passing. I was able to tune in to a portion of the live stream before it was interrupted, and cannot tell you how wonderful it was to hear Scott share his memories of Kathy during their 40 years together! It fills my heart with joy to know what a wonderful marriage she had and the joy her two boys and family brought her! Kathy was one of the most beautiful souls I have ever known. She would light up the room with her smile and personality, and she was loved by everyone. I feel very blessed to have known her, and have some incredibly wonderful and dear memories of times I spent with her. I am thinking of you all and sending my deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers.

Love this lady. She's alive and smiling in my heart. I can hear her laugh down the hall at the Breast Center, giving an insightful opinion and always the sunshine in the room. My heart goes to her family, each of whom I know through Kathy's stories filled with love. Kathy is whole and healed....until we meet again, my friend.

Kathy was a patient in our radiation department early in her cancer journey. We were all impressed with her intelligence, strength, and grace. She told us she wanted to work with breast cancer patients and that is exactly what she did, helping to build an awesome program as well as participating in many volunteer activities. We are so sad to hear of her passing. Our deepest sympathy and wishes for peace to all her family and friends. She was truly special.

I had the pleasure of working with Kathy for many years on the American Cancer Society’s Ranch Chic Fashion Show, where we were lucky to have her grace our runway every year. I was always just in awe of her sweet and positive spirit and how she would just light up the room with her smile. Kathy was a true beauty, inside and out and will be greatly missed by her entire American Cancer Society family. Prayers for Scott and her family that God may bring peace and healing in this very difficult time.

The Friedrichsen's are our neighbors and received us with a warm welcoming when we moved in 7 months ago. We met Kathy and saw and greeted her as she walked through the neighborhood. Friendly and outgoing and her condition was not lost on us. Yet, we never heard her complain or raise the matter of her condition. Obviously a strong person committed to maintaining her health through exercise and for that effort we held her in the highest esteem.
Scott, our condolences to you and your family and we are here for you if we can do anything to make the passing of Kathy easier - if that is ever possible.
