

Kaye Taylor was born on January 6, 1920 in Port Arthur, TX. She married Thomas A. Taylor in 1939, who shortly thereafter began pursuit of a US Army career that lasted 31 years, where he retired as a Colonel. She was an avid musician, vocalist and gourmet cook all her life and was extremely active as both a military officer's wife and mother of a single son, Galen D. "Tex" Taylor. An exceptional wife and mother, she was also tireless in volunteer work, in which she helped scores of wounded US military veterans recuperate. Kaye was a life member of the Tuesday Musical Club, a founding member of the Whispering Oaks Garden Club and a dedicated member of the Military Civilian Club. She was a long time, active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Kaye is survived by her son, Galen D. "Tex" Taylor; two granddaughters, Erica Taylor and Ali Taylor, and one great granddaughter, Isabella. Kaye will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Col. Thomas A. Taylor, Jr. with a graveside service to be held on Tuesday, June 23rd at 9:45 AM in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
