baseball dad, action photographer, favorite uncle, green thumb, and humble servant of the
Lord, departed this world unexpectedly and prematurely at the age of 60 in Boerne, TX on
Friday, January 29th, 2021.
Keith was born in Phoenixville, PA, but moved with his family when he was 10 to Fort Sam
Houston. He was gifted musically and learned to play many instruments but was most fond of
the guitar and piano. He briefly pursued his love of music after graduating from Cole HS before embarking on a 35yr career in telecommunications and networking but was always ready to share the song in his heart with others.
Keith was a devoted father and took great joy in his children and their accomplishments, and
he spent much time documenting these on film. He also was a loyal son and treasured the
time he spent with his parents.
Keith’s faith in the Lord was very strong and for a time led him to become an ordained minister
and to pastor a church and teach Sunday School. Even after leaving the ministry he always
kept an active prayer list and liked to encourage his loved ones with hand written blessings,
typically including a passage of scripture paired with a humorous twist that perfectly met the
situation.
Keith will be remembered by all as someone whose kindness was extraordinary and who was
generous with his time and energy and who put others needs before his own. And he will be
remembered by his children as a gracious father, who freely shared his joy of life and uplifting
spirit with them daily. His memory, energy and spirit will live on inside of all those who knew
him. We will forever be grateful for his presence in our lives.
Keith is joined in heavenly reunion with his daughter Christi Marie, his mother Helen Barbara,
and nephew Jordan Funk; and is survived by his children, Cheryl Susan Funk, and Keith Caleb (Kaitlyn) Funk; their mother Lucy Funk; his father, Colonel (Ret.) John C. Funk; siblings, Jeff (Julie) Funk, Scott (Michele) Funk, Timothy Funk, Cheryl K Funk, Doug (Michelle) Funk and John (Peter) Funk; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, in-laws and his special friend Eva.
In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree in honor of Keith’s memory and share the picture with his
family on Social Media #FunkOn.
