Our beautiful mother, Kelli Lyn Rowell-Efurd, went home to be with her Lord on August 12, 2026, at the age of 67, following a brief but hard-fought battle with cancer. True to the way she lived her life, her final moments were filled with peace and the comfort of the family and friends who meant everything to her.
Born in Dumas, Texas, on October 15, 1958, to Darrell and Farris Rowell, Kelli grew up understanding the value of family, friends and a close relationship with God. She moved to San Antonio in 1998 where she shared her life with her husband, Kevin Efurd, and opened her own business, which she loved, Quality SSR, in 2012.
If you knew Kelli, you knew that she lived to show up for others. She was the ultimate sports grandmother, serving as a staple in the stands at any Madison Maverick event that featured a Moton. Her faith called her to action, leading her to teach a women's class at Northside Church of Christ and to pack her bags for every single mission trip to Brazil to support her son's ministry.
Kelli brought joy and a bit of magic to every room she entered. She was the life of the party during holiday game nights and loved nothing more than going all-out getting dressed up for Trunk or Treat at Halloween. Her vibrant passion for living was fueled entirely by her profound love for the people around her. To her four grandsons, she wasn’t just a grandmother; she was their irreplaceable, deeply involved Noni.
Holding her memory forever in their hearts are her husband, Kevin; her children, Mark as(Melynda) Dye and Monica (Jeremy) Moton; her grandchildren, Akira, Elijah, Jude, Isaiah, and Oziah; her sister, Risa (Chris) Lusk; and her nieces and nephews, Anthony, Autumn, Morgan, Jason, and Zachary. She is reunited in peace with her parents and her brother, Jerry.
We invite all who knew and loved Kelli to join us in honoring her memory. The funeral service for Kelli will be at Northside Church of Christ in San Antonio TX on August 18, 2026, at 4:00 pm followed by the graveside service at Sunset Memorial Park.
Flowers may be delivered early to Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home or brought to Northside Church of Christ on Tuesday.
