

Kellis Stuart Dibrell, age 39, of San Antonio, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at his home in Dallas. Kellis was born in San Antonio on August 19, 1975 and graduated from Alamo Heights High School where he was an outstanding athlete who enjoyed and excelled at both football and soccer.
Kellis went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Texas Tech University where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After graduation, Kellis moved to Dallas and engaged in a successful 15 year career in the food service industry before embarking on an adventure to chase his dream of becoming an entrepreneur. While in Dallas, Kellis met the love of his life, Gini, and they were married in September 2014. He was a member of the Sons of Republic of Texas and the San Antonio German Club. He loved Texas country music, hunting, fishing, scuba diving and outdoor adventuring with his wife and friends.
Kellis was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Dibrell; his mother-in-law, Kathi Russell; and uncles, Walter Dibrell, Cooper Dibrell and John Croisant.
He is survived by his wife of eight months, Virginia Russell Dibrell; father, Samuel Dotson Dibrell; father-in-law, William Jerry Russell; brother, Samuel Dotson Dibrell Jr. and his wife, Virginia O'Gorman Dibrell; brothers-in-law, William Preston Russell and Christopher Logan Russell and his wife, Shanna Taylor Russell; nieces, Eleanor Elizabeth Dibrell and Annabelle Caroline Dibrell; nephew, Liam Logan Russell; aunts, Carol Coker, Dr. Clare Laminack, Julie Croisant; and uncle, William Coker; along with numerous cousins and a large group of amazing close friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave.
