Kelly James Hebert, 83, passed away on July 7, 2026. Born September 18, 1942, Kelly was a longtime resident of San Antonio, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Vincent Hebert; his mother, Olive Marie Babineaux; and his siblings, Maureen Gale Richard, Rabon Luke Hebert, and Charles Patrick Hebert.
Kelly graduated from Bishop Byrne High School and went on to serve in the United States Air Force. He later worked at Kelly Air Force Base, carrying forward a steady sense of duty and pride in his work.
Kelly found enjoyment in the simple, familiar pleasures of life: playing cards, listening to oldies music, hunting, working on cars and computers, and following the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs.
Kelly is survived by his wife, Cheryl Hebert; his daughter, Shelli (Brian) Tackett of Midlothian, Texas; his sons, Justin Hebert of San Antonio, Texas and Joshua Hebert of Ennis, Texas; his granddaughters, Taylor (Shawn) Lawrence of Midlothian, Texas, and Elaina Hebert of Ennis, Texas; his grandson, Tristan (Katy) Parker of Waxahachie, Texas; and his great-granddaughter, Ryan Lawrence of Midlothian, Texas. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Rick Hebert of Dallas, Texas; Larry Richard of Winnie, Texas; Yvette Nagel or Lewisville, Texas; Eric Hebert of Dallas, Texas; and Lance Robertson of Groves, Texas.
Those who knew Kelly will remember a man who showed his care through action—patiently giving his time, his hands, and his know-how. Whether the need involved cars, computers, or building projects, Kelly was consistently willing to help anyone and everyone. A constant presence for his family, he provided what was needed and, more often than not, what was hoped for as well. To many, he was a true wealth of knowledge, offered with quiet generosity.
