Ken & Jo Alyce were our neighbors in the Housing in San Diego, CA in 1974.  Andria is the only daughter at that time. My 2nd daughter, Paulina who was born that same year… on occasion, Jo Alyce and I had our babies in the stroller on a nice day then visited Ken at the Marine Base. My  oldest daughter, Gima she was 8 years old then, she had a wonderful memories growing up on how wonderful & loving the Collins were. Then relocated to Los Angeles. We drove cross country and visited them in San Antonio, Texas. Ken made us his favorite chocolate malts and shakes. It was so delicious!! Ken & Jo Alyce were our closest friends for over 50 years & we keep in touch often. We love them so much!!  We will miss you Ken. My God be with you. You’re now in Paradise with God. No more pain. “Safely Home”

We lived next door to Ken and Jo Alyce for the past 28 years.
I had many great conversations with Ken when we saw each other doing chores outside.  I learned from him about his tours of duty as a combat Marine in Viet Nam.  In my eyes Ken is a true All American who put his country before himself.  I know him as a good man, a man of honor, an example for us all as to what a great American is.  As a neighbor he would look out for us.  He and Jo Alyce have been the best neighbors anyone could ever hope to have.   I looked up to Ken with the utmost respect as he was a kind and generous man as my wife and I can attest to.  You can see the love he has for his family and the love they have for him in the family photos and movie that has been shared.  I am sad he has left us for now.  The world has been a better place with Ken here.  I am missing him very much.

Jo, I'm so sorry to hear of your husband's passing.  There are no words that can ease the pain of losing your dear husband.  I pray that the good and happy memories replace your pain.  I pray for you and your family.

One of the most Proudest moments of my career - I had the honor of having my Father administer the Us Military Oath of Office upon my graduation from the United States Air Force Officer Training School. From an early age, my Dad taught me what Service before Self truly meant. Forever looking up to you and Proud to call you My Dad - Thank you Pop. You look sharp Marine!

First met Ken at Warrant Officer School in Quantico, VA in 1981.    Ran into him again in 29 Palms, CA.  in 1982.  He was at the LAV Test Branch and I was at CSSD-12.  Next time we saw each other was several years later again in 29 Palms, CA  in 1992 when his Field Supply & Maintenance Analysis Office (FSMAO) team came and did an analysis on my shop.  Then I got orders to MCB Camp Pendleton, CA in 1993 to of all things, FSMAO-2 .  Ken was my OIC on the maintenance team.   Here I have to mirror what Ken's friend Bill Cox said.  He was a true professional.   He was an expert in his field and a thorough analyst.  An outstanding boss and Marine Corps Officer.  We became close friends and I had the privilege of meeting  and getting to know JoAlyce and the kids.  We kept in touch through the years via phone calls and an occasional visit.  It saddens me to know that there will be no more phone calls or visits.  Ken my friend,  I will miss you.  May you have Fair Winds and Following Seas.    Semper Fi!

I had the pleasure of working with Ken for about six years at MCB Camp Pendleton from the late 80s through the early 90s.  I specifically recall his professionalism, technical expertise, and lively sense of humor.   What started off as a professional relationship led to a “most highly excellent” friendship that has endured.   It was an honor to serve with Ken and an even greater honor to have him as a friend.  I’ll miss you Ken.  Semper Fi.

Kenny was a wonderful brother and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, he will be missed dearly.

The most memorable moment is that I had got serve with my brother in the Marine Corps at 29 Palms Combat Center with the Light Armored Vehicle Test & Evaluation Branch which most brothers don’t get that opportunity.
