Kenneth (Kenny) Preston Kemple, 70 passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at his home in Floresville, Texas. He was born on September 28, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas to Rosamond (Hornbuckle) and James “Jim” Kemple.
Kenny attended Southwest High School where he met ex-wife, Jeanette (Price) Madaj. Together, he and Jeanette welcomed two daughters, Katherine “Kathy” and Judith “Judy”. After High School, Kenny joined the Air Force as a Dental Laboratory Technician in 1972. He served honorably and retired after 20 years of service. Following Air Force retirement, Kenny spent an additional 22 years in Civil Service at the MacKown Dental Lab, Lackland AFB. During his career he received many commendations and awards for his talented work. Kenny most enjoyed the opportunity to train new Dental Lab Technicians as they entered the Air Force.
Kenny had a wonderful life; his greatest passions were golf, bowling, and playing softball. He was always the first to volunteer to help with a project, cook at barbecues and loved to host pool parties for the Dental Lab staff.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; and brother James “Jimmy” Kemple.
Kenny is survived by daughters, Katherine Deems (Robert) and Judith Wheeler (James); grandchildren, Brittany Gonick (Michael), Andrew Deems, Chloe Deems, Jack Wheeler and Jameson Wheeler; siblings, Laura Forrest (Steve), Judy Santa Anna (Billy), Faith Rubio (Benny); and many nieces and nephews.
A Committal Service will take place on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:45a.m., at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family is welcoming friends for a Celebration of Life at Joint Base San Antonio Fort Sam Houston Golf Club from 11:15a.m. to 1:15p.m.
