

She was born February 8, 1927 in Neckargemuend, Germany. Kornelia worked for many years as a customer service representative in the Ft. Sam Houston Post Exchange and as a volunteer at Camlu Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bernard Joe Horak and her second husband, Lloyd Smith.
Kornelia is survived by her son, Dr. Bernard James Horak of Brookeville, Maryland; four grandchildren, Rachel, David, Molly and Will Horak; and a great grandchild, Emily Horak. She is also survived by her sister, Hanna Krahn of Amarillo, a sister-in-law, Henny Schmelter, and her nieces, Marie Treiber and Dinah Schmelter, all of whom live in Heidelberg, Germany.
In addition, she is survived by a number of friends and caretakers, including George Alva and Manual and Patricia Ortega of San Antonio.
Visitation will be Monday, November 28, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary on 1101 McCullough Ave.
