L.C. Weathersby passed away on October 7, 2025, at 88 years old. He lived by Matthew 6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” As a deacon at Church of the Firstborn, he was known for bold evangelism, generous heart, and joyful spirit.
One of fourteen siblings, Deacon Weathersby was born in Centralia, IL, to George Weathersby, Sr. and Mattie Weathersby on January 22, 1937. He graduated from Centralia High School in 1955. He enlisted in the military and honorably served a combined 21 years in the US Air Force and Army. While stationed at Fort Sam Houston, he met the love of his life, Annabelle Anderson. Married for 63 years, they raised three children–George, Lisa, and Linda.
Preceding him in death: daughter, Linda Weathersby; parents, George Weathersby, Sr., and Mattie Weathersby; and 9 siblings.
Funeral services will be at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home at 2pm on Saturday, October 25th with a reception to follow.
Pastors Stephen and Carolyn Prescod will officiate.
