

Lance Madison Lewenthal was born on October 17, 1950 and entered into the Lord's nearer presence on April 23, 2016. He was a lifelong resident of San Antonio, and a lifelong member of Christ Episcopal Church. A graduate of Alamo Heights High School, he entered the U.S. Army in 1973 and served with the Airborne Rangers in Korea. He was a founding partner of J. Adelman Antiques, where he worked until he suffered a brain aneurysm 1992. In spite of his illness, he lived life to the fullest and always had a positive witty attitude. He was the son of Eugene Lewis Lewenthal and Patricia Johnson Lewenthal who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Carmen Cortez Lewenthal, his children Alexandra Leal Lewenthal and Marc Joshua Lewenthal, and his sister Lynette Biasiolli. Lance loved Carmen's family as his own and is survived by mom Gloria Cortez, sisters Michelle Kirkpatrick, Selina Macaulay, and Laura Scirto, brother Narciso Cortez, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family is especially thankful for the doctors and staff of the Audie L. Murphy Veterans Hospital for their excellent and dedicated care of Lance and other veterans.
The funeral service will be Friday, April 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ Episcopal Church, 510 Belknap Place, San Antonio. The Rev. Scott Kitayama and the Rev. Eric Fenton officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Christ Episcopal Church Columbarium.
