

Larry was born on May 24th, 1945 to parents William G. Harmon & Freda June McClelland-Harmon in Quincy, Illinois. He married his lifelong partner and friend Betty Duncan in 1966. He graduated from Palmyra High School in 1963. He then joined the Navy; becoming a SeaBee was a source of great pride for him.
All who knew Larry would attest to his outgoing personality, giving spirit, and infectious laugh. He was a friend to many. He passionately pursued many hobbies, including restoring cars and collecting rare coins. His coin store in Quincy was force to close because of his illness, but he cherished the relationships he fostered with his local community.
He will be missed by many surviving him, including his mother, Freda June; sister, Peggy Wiewel; brother, Gary Harmon; two daughters, Cyndy & Candice; four grandchildren, Josh, Justin, Jessica, & Robert; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte & Brendon; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in passing by his father, William Harmon; beloved wife, Betty Harmon; sister Barbara Jean Smith; and brother-in-law, Larry Wiewel.
He will be greatly missed. His family takes solace in knowing he is at rest alongside his beautiful wife once again.
