Larry was a man of great character who loved the Lord. He always prefaced his comments with a scripture thought to remind us all that God is sovereign and will hold everyone accountable. He was strongly dedicated to building the Kingdom of God and having Eyes for Eternity.
Larry not only had a great sense of humor and expressed his thoughts beautifully, regardless of the subject matter. He was a man of God and adored his wife, Shirley, for so many years in their loving marriage. He remained deeply intertwined in every aspect of the lives of his large family using social media, phone and zoom calls, fun banter via emails and text, endured weather at countless sporting events for grandchildren, danced to "Fireball" at weddings, told "Grinch" stories at Christmas for the kids, watched college football with family or texted during the games, and led prayers during family events. Further, he frequently traveled to visit family throughout the year, helped during family moves, called on birthdays, offered wisdom where needed, was present during his grandchildren's lives from their births through their graduations, and even organized entire family reunions to Texas, Colorado, Washington and an infamous reunion to Germany! Simply, as the patriarch of the family, Larry led and loved us all unconditionally. He set a Godly example by the way he lived his life. He loved his family fiercely and will be woven into the fabric of their lives forever. He had a sincere desire to help others and kept a reverence about him that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Larry attended Verse by Verse Fellowship then transferred his membership to The Fellowship of San Antonio. He was involved in weekly home Bible Study where his beloved church family would gather each week. He was respected by his brothers and sisters in Christ for his knowledge of biblical truths and was a pillar of his church family.
Larry was involved in his community, benefiting his neighborhood by serving on the Architectural Review Committee and by spearheading the Panther Spring Creek Restoration Project.
Col Lewis served in the United States Army for 30 years, defending the freedom and liberty of all American citizens. He was a patriot and loved this great country!
