

Larry G. Marley, 71, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014. He was born on August 5, 1942 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Fred Elvis & Eva Northcutt Marley. At the age of 5 his family moved to Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech University and married Carla L. Heil in 1971. Mr. Marley was the construction manager for Dial Corporation and developed the Dial Tower in Phoenix, AZ. He had also served as President of the congregation at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Phoenix before moving to San Antonio. He would sponsor children with Cystic Fibrosis to the Phoenix Suns home games. He enjoyed building model cars and flying model airplanes.
Mr. Marley was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Leland and by his beloved daughter, Stephanie Lauren Marley. He is survived by his wife, Carla L. Marley; sons, Kiel Laurent Marley of Phoenix, Lance Nelson of Gonzales, LA, and Chris Harmel of San Antonio; nieces, Kelly Moore & Tara Marley Fleming.
The visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 5:00 – 9:00 P.M. at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The interment will follow at a later date in the Geronimo Cemetery in Seguin, Texas.
