He recounted great memories of singing with friends, barbershop style while still in highschool. Later he and Patricia enjoyed doing karaoke through their daughter Dione, where they made some really great friends. By all accounts he was also a great dancer and a fantastic bowler. Over his year he worked in several Bowling centers throughout Utah and Texas. He was the Night Manager when World of Sports (University Bowl) opened in 1979. He ran the Snack Bar at Oak Hills Lanes and World of Sports as well at times! The love of Bowling was something he passed on to his son and was an activity enjoyed together. Rumor has it that Larry bowled the first perfect game in Moab Utah history! Larry was very involved in the Mormon Church growing up and spent some of his most memorable times on Mission trips. He said he met so many great people along the way. Although he tried several professions in his early years, he found his niche as a professional painter. Eventually, he went to work for Northside School District as a Paint Foreman, and remained there for 23 years, where he received an award for his excellent years of service. Between 1997 and 2010 Larry received many acclamations for his work in managing blood drives for the South Texas regional blood bank. After retiring, he concentrated on his woodworking skills, making beautiful crosses and San Antonio Mission birdhouses. He loved setting up at craft shows in and around San Antonio. Larry spent the last 31 years with his wife Patricia as they enjoyed watching their family grow. He was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2018 and succumbed to the disease on October 1, 2021.
