Larson E. Everett passed away March 13, 2023 at the age of 99. He was born on February 22, 1924, to Howard and Amanda in Maryville, TN. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nuria Pujol Everett. He is survived by his brother Robert Everett, his sons Jerome/Jean, Jim/Anne and Jason/Maggie, and daughter Jenny Williams/David; his grandchildren Jeff Everett/Hector, Julie O’Leary/Stephen, Jennifer Everett/Melissa, Kim Pacannins/Patrick, Jessica Tondre, Seth Williams/Courtney, Lindsay Wight/Jamie and Nuria Everett along with 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who knew him as “Papaw”.
In January 1942, he entered the Army Air Corps and served in the Pacific. He returned home and attended Maryville College and graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan University where he met his wife, Nuria. They moved to Texas in 1951 and in 1954, he, along with his wife started a floral company, Continental Floral Greens. Over the years it grew into a worldwide grower and distributor of floral products, with branches in San Antonio, Florida, Washington, California, Mexico and Guatemala.
Our Dad was our hero all our lives and dedicated himself to his family and business and all his loyal employees who loved and respected him. He took great pride tending his yard and garden which was admired by many. Over the years Dad took special joy in sharing his beach house and then his river house with his family.
Special thanks to our cousin, Mike Everett, for his devotion to Dad, his long-time housekeeper/caregiver/friend Josefina Garcia and caregiver Isabel Juarez who both loved and cared for him, making delicious meals, giving personal care, companionship and help maintaining his beloved yard.
Visitation will 6-8 pm, Monday, March 20, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home, Austin Highway. Funeral Service will be 3 pm, Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Sunset Mausoleum II.
