Laura Anne Wheeler Saenz passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord surrounded by her loving family and friends on November 14, 2007 at the age of 51. Surviving immediate family include her beloved husband of 25 years Daniel Saenz, D.D.S. and daughter, Lorena. Parents, Bonnie and Roy Wheeler; brother, Jim and wife Cindy Wheeler; niece, Katie and nephew, Gus.
Laura fought a persevering battle with kidney cancer for nearly 2 years. Laura attended Alamo Heights High School Class of 1974 and went on to earn a BS from the University of Texas in Austin and a teaching certificate from Trinity.
She enthusiastically taught kindergarten for 5 years. After the birth of Lorena she worked part-time with her husband in his dental practice.
Laura's extroversion was legendary. Everyone knew Laura for her lively conversation, quick wit, sense of humor and smile. Laura was always active in promoting competitive swimming and water polo, throughout Lorena's grade school/high school days.
The outpouring of encouragement, understanding, hope, love and fellowship from our friends, patients, and even strangers was truly a blessing that made enduring possible.
