SGM Lavena "Joe" Ganey, US Army (Ret), a loving husband and father, age 62, died Thursday, February 23, 2012. Joe retired from the U.S. Army after 27 years of service. He was a San Antonio business owner from 1993-2009.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Pearl Ganey as well as his brothers, Lynn and Lamar Ganey. Joe is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Ganey; son, Michael J. Ganey; daughter, Jennifer Finlon; grandchildren, Sarah Ganey, Amber Finlon and Drake Finlon; sisters, Mavis Chapman and husband Frank and Elaine Nugent and husband, Paul; brothers, Jerry Ganey and wife, Ethyl and Charlie Ganey; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 27th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring.
