LaVerne Joyce McCabe, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in Humble, Texas. Her care and compassion for nursing was not only evident for her patients but also to her students as Professor Emeritus of Nursing at St. Phillip's College.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lt Col. Thomas McCabe; parents, Hazel and Neuman Wood; and brother, Willis Wood. LaVerne is survived by her daughter, Julie Sivia and her husband, Robert; and grandson, Luke.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
