'Mrs May and Family, 
I worked with Chief May in the late 1960s at Hq Recruitimg Service. He was a great man. As a young SSgt I learned a lot from him; not just military, but most of all what it took to be a successful, thoughtful man. Called him several times over the years. 'It's been almost 30 years since a was around Larry, and yet I remember him fondly. In the best sense, he was a co-worker and a father figure. The world will not be as good a place without him, yet I'm certain that he has a place in Heaven. I shall miss him, and I wish the best for all who knew and loved him.'

'Lawrence was the most generous man I ever met. He loved the Lord, shared his faith, encouraged others in their faith and gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. He believed in Christian unity, compassion toward those who struggled, had a forgiving spirit and was totally committed to the Lord, his family and the local congregation where he served. I loved this man dearly and will miss him as my mentor and brother in Christ.'

My heart is deeply saddened at the passing of Uncle Winfred. Although I did not get to see him that often, he was always so interested in everything that I was doing. I always tried to visit with him & Aunt Sarah Lou when I was in San Antonio. I have wonderful childhood memories of visiting with them in Waco, San Antonio & trips to Hope with your family when I was younger. Your Dad is & was a special person in my life. My love to each of you during this time.'

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. May was a wonderful man and I was blessed it have him as my neighbor growing up. He always was so kind to my brothers and I. Mr. May always offering us a chocolate soldier from his refrigerator in the garage. He spoke wisdom into me when I left for college and his friendly smile and wave is what made Oak Shadows home. While I will miss my dear friend I know that he is rejoicing with our Father in heaven.
