Larry Seidel, 78, passed away on Friday, March 4th, 2022, in Corpus Christi, Texas and joined the love of his life Carolyn Seidel in Heaven. He was born October 5, 1943 in McPherson, KS to Martin and Hester (Regier) Seidel. He graduated from McPherson High School, attended McPherson College and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Business. Larry and Carolyn met later in life at St. Lukes Episcopal Church, and were married there. They enjoyed 23 beautiful years together, with family, friends and their animals, until Carolyns death in May, 2020. Family time was very special to him, whether it was breaking bread together, watching sports on TV, or visiting with family, especially his grandchildren.
Larry moved to San Antonio in the early 80s where he began a long career in Information Technology and Software Development. Larry was a computer whiz, and had quite the computer office set up. After a long and successful career, Larry decided it was time to retire from Wells Fargo in December of 2020 at the age of 77 years old.
After retirement, Larry moved to Aransas Pass, Texas with his youngest Son, Christopher and his family, to make the most of his retirement. He enjoyed spending time on the porch watching wildlife around the pond, going to the beach, and spending time with family. He was also looking forward to snuggling with his first great-grandchild, James Walker Seidel.
Larry was known to be gregarious and funny. He never passed up an opportunity to ask for the "Winning Lottery Ticket" and especially enjoyed those with very creative responses. Wherever Larry was a "regular", he was greeted warmly and treated like a friend. He never missed a chance to meet new people when he was out and about. Larry was very generous with his time and helpful to those who needed his help, especially his expertise with computers!
Anyone who knew Larry knew that he loved his family even when he wasnt able to stay connected with them on a regular basis. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his brothers, Stan (Pat) of Topeka, Ks, Phil (Jan) of McPherson, Ks, sisters, Nancy Walker (Neill) of McPherson, Ks, and Paula Orth (Paul) of Galva, Ks, as well as his sons Jeffrey (Mary) of Dallas, Tx and Christopher (Lara) of Aransas Pass, Tx, his step-sons David Dean (Judy), and Daniel Dean, grandchildren Reagan, Kelsey, Braden, Austyn and Elizabeth, and great-grandson James, brother-in-law David Thorn (Damaris), sister-in-law Sharon Thorn, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to:
The Pregnancy Center of the Coastal Bend which was a non-profit organization that he felt strongly about because of the support they gave the family when we first moved to Aransas Pass.
The San Antonio Humane Society which is a non-profit that Larry and Carolyn both supported over the years.
