

Leonarda "Loni" Diaz, age 86, went home with the Lord on October 9, 2024. Born on August 26, 1938, in San Antonio, TX, to loving parents Jesus and Leonor Diaz. Loni is survived by her loving daughters Geraldine, Sandra, and Alma; her cherished grandchildren Richard, Justin, Elaine, Denise, Ariel, Sally, Brittany, Bridget, and Brianna; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom benefited from her boundless love and support.
Loni was a proud graduate of St. Phillips College, where she earned her degree as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, a profession that allowed her to extend her innate caring nature to the community she served. Beyond her professional achievements, Loni had a passion for volunteering. She was a long-time member of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), a community representative for her retirement community and dedicated many years of volunteering as an usher at the Majestic Theater.
Loni's passion for life was evident in her hobbies and interests. She had a creative soul, finding joy in arts and crafts, fashion, and cheering on the Spurs and Cowboys. She shared her talents and love with others through handmade art and jewelry, homecooked meals, and baked goods. Her love for salsa dancing was well-known; she could light up any room with her grace and infectious energy, bringing smiles and laughter to friends and family alike. And most of all, you could expect to always see Loni at her best; with every outfit and accessory carefully planned.
Those who knew Loni will remember her as the embodiment of love, beauty, and generosity. Her ability to put others before herself was unparalleled. As we remember Loni, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a woman well-loved. She has left behind a legacy of love and has imparted a piece of her indomitable spirit to each of us, ensuring that her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
