Leonor (Nora) San Miguel Gonzales, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 at the age of 92. She is preceded in death by her son, Carlos Mario Gonzales, her brother; Noel San Miguel, Sister; Mary Garcia, and her parents; Jovita and Comesindo San Miguel.

She is survived by her children: Dolores Gonzales, David (Diana) Gonzales, Frank (Susan) Gonzales and Debbie (David) Garza; her three grandchildren: David (Merressa) Garza Jr., Steven (Ashley) Garza and Yvonne Garza; and her great-grandchildren; David Anthony Garza, Arianna Garza, Kristiana, Mia Garza and Marshall Garza and brothers; Rudy (Rita) San Miguel and John (Ofelia) Sosa; sister-in-law Elida (Noel) San Miguel and numerous nieces and nephews.

Originally born in Lockhart, Texas on Oct 3rd 1929, she spent most of her young life near Rockport, Texas where her father cared for land and cattle on San José island. After her father’s passing, she and her family moved to San Antonio where she married and raised her children. Nora worked in retail at various stores and in 1990, retired as the Department Head of the jewelry at Montgomery Wards.

Her biggest joy came from spending time with family, her beautifully decorated home and her deeply loved garden. She’d spend countless hours manicuring and tending to her yard’s every need. She equally enjoyed traveling, particularly to the Texas coast where she felt at home. Her infectious laughter and unconditional love will remain with us for eternity.

So, I will follow you to Texas

Although it hurts me so

To lay to rest this coastal beauty

That the Lord's called home

And I can see her up in glory
