Thinking about the day I got caught in a hard rain on the way from Lackland AFB and rode over to Poppa’s house to get out the rain. Mom is always cooking so she fed me and gave me some clothes while my uniform was washing. Sat in the living room and watched Westerns with Poppa until my clothes were dry. Just always welcoming and enjoyed the company whenever I stopped by. Poppa is gonna be missed but I’m at peace knowing he’s in a better place and no more pain. Rest in heaven Poppa.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  Roy was a great person.  Remembering his hospitality and gentle soul.  May he rest in peace.

I d like to thank you for the laughter you brought to my life with your jokes! The emails you used to sent to me were always a thrill (you know what I mean)!

I already miss you so much. You were the only Grandpa I knew and you treated all of us as if we are your own. I’m so grateful you got to meet my son, My heart will be forever full for that. I will tell Christopher Archer about our road trips to Corpus to fish with grandma in your white pickup truck that had me and a friend sitting in back jammin to your country music! I know every country song because of you. Your funny dance moves, cheesy jokes, and contagious smile will forever be in my heart. You loved all of us so unconditionally and I hope you look down on us everyday and smile. I’m torn you are gone but so happy you are at peace. I love you and will forever miss you.

My heart is broken yet full as I’ve been fortunate to be blessed with so many great memories of you. Thank you for being a wonderful second father to me and an amazing, loving Papa to the kids. Words cannot adequately convey my gratitude for all that you’ve done for each of us. You have been a significant part of my life for almost three decades, sharing many precious moments, celebrating milestones along the way and you were always there when needed, ready to lend support, encourage, inspire and console.  I will miss your stories, jokes, smile and laughter. May you rest in paradise. Love you always, Denise 

It was my greatest pleasure to have to known  Leroy and over the years. He  has been a big inspiration of my life, as he encouraged and wanted the best in my life. Always willing to talk and just spend time together. He had a way just to make you feel comfortable and bring a smile, a laugh out of you. I will cherish the memories and many jokes and many times jokingly fired me. He was and is  a great man. Thankful for his service in the Air Force and stories he shared of his experiences.  I am pleased that I was able to part of the family and he became my adopted dad,  I will miss you but know your are in a better place.

I don’t even know what to say except thank you. Thank you for loving us as if we were your own, thank you for taking care of us and always being there for me when I needed a laugh. Some of my favorite memories of you come from when I was younger and spent a lot of time at the house with you. Getting picked up from school by you was one of the highlights of my day back then, probably because you would always take us to the ice cream truck and let us get whatever sweets we wanted. I remember everything from those mornings when we were little when you would wake us up for breakfast, to the time when you taught me and my friends how to play mahjong. I’m going to miss getting to just sit and watch TV with you; whether it was westerns or looney tunes, I always enjoyed those moments even when we were doing nothing. I’ll always cherish the memories we had together and will never forget kind, loving spirit. I hope you’ve reunited in paradise with your best friend Brownie, I know y’all will be happy to see each other again. Please give her some treats for me. I love you so much, rest peacefully Papa. 

My Papa,

Thank you for everything you've done for me throughout these 14 years. The family will never forget your humourous personality and loving nature. You were always there when I was sick and had to miss school--rewarding me with cartoons and all the boiled eggs I wanted! Or when it was just us, chatting away at the park. Some of the memories that come to mind are when we would go out on chicken dates or stop for ice cream on the way back from school. These are moments that your spirit will not be forgotten in, and moments in which I never plan on letting go of. It's so hard to believe you won't be there for future birthdays or Christmases. I don't think that will change no matter how many days pass. We really do appreciate you and you were an important figure in my life I will never forget about. I love and miss you so much. Rest easy, Papa and let the rest of our family up there know how much we love them too!
