

Leroy was born and raised in San Antonio. During World War II he was the civilian head of the Firestone Tire test fleet at Camp Normoyle. He served as manager of the A.J. Ploch Oil Company, a distributor of Texaco products. Mr. Linnartz was a graduate of Brackenridge High School and a true pioneer in developing truck stops and convenience stores in the Bexar County area.
He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Linnartz; his parents, O.A. "Otto" and Julia Linnartz; two brothers, Joe and Harold; and one sister, Gladys.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Rose Huston Linnartz; daughter, Rose Lee Hoelscher and husband, Donald; son, Larry Linnartz and wife, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Sharon Linnartz; grandchildren, Deanna Hoelscher and husband, Steve Kelder, Gretchen Stepke and husband, Tim, John Hoelscher and wife, Debbie, Julie Weber and husband, Tom, Chip Linnartz and wife, Karen, Missy Kerlick, and Chelyne Leifeste and husband, Jim; great-grandchildren, Andrew Montgomery, Abby Montgomery, Ben Kelder, Anthony Stepke, Katie Stepke, John Wesley Hoelscher, Matthew Hoelscher, Claire Weber, Emma Weber, Huston Kerlick, Maddie Linnartz, and Sarah Linnartz; and his sister, Dorothy Davis of Midwest City, Oklahoma.
