Our deepest sympathy to the Mendelsohn family, the passing of Les has left a big void in our hearts and I am sure in the hearts of many others. Les will forever live in our hearts, his unselfish demeanor should always be an example to those practicing law. He was one of the most humble and caring persons I have ever met.

Dear Sylva my deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. I didn't want to belive that Less had passed away when a friend had told me Monica had called his wife. My heart goes out to you, You and Less have always been so kind and good to me and nobody could have ask for better friends then you and Less. I will miss Less for he not only helped he also gave me advice without hesitation. And because of Less I am now attending College toward either mach. engineer or Law. Less has always told me if I ever needed any help with College he would help. I will miss him dearly and I know he is with God. your friend "Tracker"

I was one of the lucky ones: I knew Les Mendelsohn. What makes me feel especially lucky is that I was able to appreciate all that this man gave me and then thank him for it not long after my "awakening." Les taught me two secrets: how to "find the law" and how to "fight for justice" a/k/a "sue the bastards" and win. These "secrets" have served me well in my lifelong struggle against ignorance and arrogance, so I might see the light for myself and, hoping it's not a train at the end of the tunnel, bring that light into the lives of others. Back in 1982, I was a 2nd year law student working on a legal memo for Les. It was for the class action lawsuit he filed against GTE on behalf of its female employees. Although close to hitting the mark, I hadn't quite answered Les's question. Rather than "taking it from there," and finishing the research himself as many lawyers of his stature would have been inclined to do, Les took the time to show me the finest of fine lines that I doubt few others could have seen. He was a patient guide, taking me through a long line of cases in order to show me the snake-like thread that had wound its way in and out of the many sides of that complex legal issue. From that moment on, I never encountered a legal issue that I couldn't resolve. That was the first secret I learned from Les, the teacher. When I entered the law practice, I began working for the "dark side" of the force. It was in 1986 that I once more had the privilege of learning from Les, this time as his opponent in a hard-fought case he had brought against a company that my firm represented. That firm sent me off to defend the client against Les who, for two weeks, put me through a "trial by fire" of maximum intensity showing me firsthand the other side of my master, Les, the Gladiator. It was his firey passion for justice in fighting for the "little guy" that lead me to the discovery of a second secret: NEVER GIVE IN! Since then, I saw Les in a different light. Whenever we met, he treated me as though we were old friends, sharing his wit and his warmth on a level that suggested we were equals. Secretly, deep inside, I was giddy with the rush of undying admiration, knowing I was with one of the real superheroes. One day, I mustered the courage to tell him my secret - that he was my hero! My heartfelt condolences go out to you in this time of great loss and boundless sorrow. I'm sure you are comforted in ways I can only imagine, not the least of which is knowing that Les's love - for people and for justice - has been spread far and wide. So many lives he's improved, so many hearts he's touched. The legacy of Les Mendelsohn's love will never die. We lucky ones will see to that.

Need a private room, if you have a questions about anything or anyone is in the hospital, please let me help in any away i can. It's sometimes I a cood expierience. being in the hospital, i can help fill in gaps and make sure every one is doing what they should be doing right now!!!! i guess i get my pushyness from all those years working on stage waiting just befor the show, something would always happen and i would have to--- figure it out, before the show would go on.

sylvia and chrisy, you know that mom and i love you from the bottom of our heart. and while mom is not doing so good herself, i know that she remembers chrisy and you and les. if i had had a father........i wish he would have been like les.....

with our deepest simpathy and great sorrow, we say goodby to les. i cant believe it, may you find true mitsfa in death and be able to coach and guide the living. my promise to you les is to make myself avalible to your family should the need arise.

I spent nine years working with Les as a law clerk and associate attorney fresh out of law school. He had a boundless love of the law and was a tireless advocate for his clients. Les was so generous to me with his time and knowledge and wisdom, and made a profound contribution to my professional development. On a personal level, he was "Uncle Les" to my children and was my good friend and mentor, and I cannot believe he is no longer just a phone call away. My deepest sympathies to all the family for your tremendous loss.

I worked with Mr. Mendelsohn many, many years ago. I was saddened to learn of his passing. My deepest sympathy and prayers to his family.

THE COMMUNITY IS BETTER OFF NOT ONLY BECAUSE LES LIVED AMONG US, BUT ALSO BECAUSE HE MADE OUR COMMUNITY MORE CARING AND MORE JUST.

Les gave hope and dignity back to those who lost hope and their dignity due to the hatred and bigotry of others. I am one of those people. I have lost my lawyer, but most of all my friend. Les is one of the greatest men and father's I ever met, and now that he is not on earth, their is something missing without him.

I worked as Mr. Mendelsohn's legal assistant for a year and a half. He was the best boss I ever had in my life. Mr. Mendelsohn was more than just a boss. He was also my second Poppa. Now he is with Hashem. I'll see you there, Poppa.

Les, I'm going to miss your friendship the most. You were always a true friend both in time of need as well as in the good times.
