

She was born January 3, 1930 to Abelardo and Yrene Mireles of Los Ebanos, Texas. Libby attended school up until 10th grade, when she decided to enter into the Bible Institute in order to promote child evangelism. Most of her young adult life was spent visiting labor camps, where she educated children on the gospel of the Bible. Several years later she moved to Mathis, Texas to live with her sister Cecilia Olivo. While living in Mathis she met her future husband and love of her life, Manuel Parra, and were married in 1954.
Libby’s life was filled with much love from her family and friends. She was a strong woman of faith, and touched the lives of everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Parra; her parents, Abelardo and Yrene Mireles; her brothers, Victor Manuel Sr., Abelardo II, Eliseo, Sostenes, Onesimo, and Gregorio Mireles; her sister Cecilia Olivo. She is survived by her sister, Irene Garcia (Jorge); brother Robert Mireles; children: Charlie Parra, Steve Parra (Michele), Robert Parra, James Parra (Kat), Debra Pena (Ruben), 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd, San Antonio, TX. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 9:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 in the funeral home chapel. A procession will depart the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. for interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
