

Lilian Elizabeth McCann, age 87, of San Antonio, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 10, 2012. Born on September 13, 1925, she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and Baylor University and married her lifelong sweetheart.
She taught at Horace Mann Junior High, was active in the PTA, served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader, volunteered as a Bluebird at Methodist Hospital for over 25 years, was a member of several garden clubs, and was a member of the Military-Civilian Club. She was a faithful member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church and enjoyed keeping in touch with her high school friends.
Her children and grandchildren were a continuing source of joy and pride. She was a sweet and loving person who treated everyone with respect. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. McCann. She is survived by her children, Jim and Sherry McCann, and Nancy and Jack Shirley all of San Antonio; grandchildren, James McCann and Ryan McCann all of San Antonio, Brooke Ansel and Clark, and Brett Shirley and Anna all of Dallas; sister, Nancy and John Scott of Granger; nieces, Sally Hajda of Granger, and Susan Oliver of Fort Worth.
Memorial Visitation will be on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
