Scottie Ferguson joined her loving Savior on October 21, 2012. She was re-united with her beloved husband of 60 years, Jim G. Ferguson, Jr. who preceded her in death in 2002 also brother, John C. Beasley and sister, Annie Mary Marler.
She is survived by children; Jim G. Ferguson, III and wife, Sally; Martha Ferguson Hawthorne and husband, Doug; Kathryn Ferguson; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Davenport and Martha Kowalik. Louis Armstrong best described the life journey of Scottie - "It's A Wonderful World" An endearing woman who adored her husband and family; her three children; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren, sisters, cousins, nephews, nieces, and endless friends.
Her life was filled with adventure, creativity, humor, friendship, kindness and generosity. She never met a crossword puzzle she could not conquer, a golf course she would not play, a fish she didn't like to catch, a card game she would miss, a hug that ever lasted too long, an object she could not build and a road she would not travel. Wise with life's lessons, Scottie so often had family by her side, at her knee, on her lap as she shared stories filled with determination and hope.
She gave "Scottie Pats" to all the little ones to share her love. From Beeville, Texas, she became the matriarch of the "Beasley Babes". Many generations of Beasley women looked to her to guide and teach them her lessons of life. A centerpiece of the family, Buck and Scottie's home was always the gathering place for all the family. A distinguished woman with a gentle smile and striking hair, she was comfortable in a worn apron covered in sawdust, a fishing cap or a stunning ball gown.
To Scottie it was all about the joy of the moment and being fully engaged. Her legacy will be her pioneer spirit, her full-hearted love and endless memories that fill hearts forever. She loved the Lord and she has left this world a better place than when she entered it. Thanks be to God.
