Lillian B. Rossman, age 84, passed away December 25, 2020 in Boerne, Texas. She was born on September 4, 1936 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to James and Willie Baker. Lillian is survived by her husband, Jerry D. Rossman; daughters, Elizabeth Hestor and husband Allen, Julie Rossman and husband Mike Marriquez; granddaughter, Skylar Rossman; sister, Mattie Heaven.
Lillian spent her early years moving around due to the nature of her father’s work. She lived in different parts of Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana but no matter where she lived she was very active in church. Her father passed away at age 9 and during the depression it was difficult for her mother to support 3 children so Lillian was put into the Masonic home for girls and was there for many years. She enjoyed the girls home but was able to leave the home when she was a teenager and lived with her Aunt Billie and the for a short time with her Aunt Lillian who she was named after. At age 18 she moved to San Antonio and lived with her sister Mattie and her family. Mattie’s best friend was Rosemary and eventually Lillian met Rosemary’s brother Jerry and they fell in love and got married. They had two girls, Elizabeth and Julie. Lillian loved her girls so very much and truly enjoyed being a Mother and homemaker. She kept a spotless home and instilled strong moral values in her children. She was able to teach them right from wrong and showed them God’s love. Although Lillian loved her home and raising children she had some medical issues and fought through cancer, depression and a heart & lung condition. She was strong willed and a fighter and always cared more about others than herself. She loved everyone and it showed in the way she spoke and how she treated others. One of the very best days of her life was when her granddaughter was born. Lillian fell in love with Skylar and couldn’t get enough of her and was blessed to see her grow to adulthood. A beautiful thing about Lillian was she always let you know is how much she loved you and how if you did anything wrong she always forgave you. She had the best Christmas ever and went to the Lord in peace. She will be greatly missed but is in so many hearts she will live there always.
