Lillian Mae Tilles

Lillian Mae Tilles was born May 19, 1930 to Taylor Hatton and Mildred Greenfield. She passed away March 8, 2021. Though born in Maryland, she often told people she got to Texas as fast as she could. She held a Masters Degree in Nursing from UIW and was a member of the Nursing Honor Society. She was a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Diabetes Educator. As a faculty member of Incarnate Word University School of Nursing she was loved and respected by her nursing students. Over the years many people were adopted into the family when she found they had no place to go for the holidays. She will be deeply missed by her husband of over 60 years, Dr. Jerome Tilles, by her children - David Tilles (Cindy Tilles), Cheryl Tilles, Michelle Tilles Harris (Mike Harris) and by her three wonderful grandchildren, Michael Tilles (Amber Tilles), Anastasia Abbott (James Abbott) and Corina McLaughlin, as well as by her extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and her sister Millette Barber. There will be visitation from 6 pm- 7 pm. There will be a memorial and time of remembrance from 7 pm - 9 pm at Sunset Funeral Home on April 8, 2021 and interment at 10:15am on April 9, 2021 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Coming from being a twin, Aunt Lou was the first one in our family to see us as individuals by making us each a birthday cake! What a caring loving person Auntie Lou was. I shall miss her smile and great cooking. Love you Aunt Lou!

Remembering Lil as we worked together at Schertz Cibolo Isd. She was a wonderful co-worker and friend. Loved her dearly.
