“Lil” had such a sweet, charismatic, genuine, and contagious smile.
One of the coolest personality traits about her was that she was a free spirit. Lillie was Autistic and as a result, she was unencumbered by societal rules, stereotypes, or any kind of box. She lived life enjoying time with the people she loved, taking her time with her favorite foods, and having fun. Play was her priority. Many times it seems she taught us more than we taught her in this aspect :)
Her favorite foods included edamame, yogurt, Skittles, taquitos, oatmeal, ice cream, and fruit.
Swimming was her activity to do; she loved all things water. She loved playing with playdough, slime, and bubbles. She loved to watch cooking and diving videos on YouTube.
Amongst her favorite cartoon characters from movies/shows, over her lifetime were: Finding Nemo, Frozen I and II, any Minion variation, Doc McStuffins, Monster’s Inc, Toy Story, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and more. She always carried around toys with her and throughout her lifetime,
Being non-verbal, Lillie had a limited vocabulary. What was funny is the fact that the words she used the most included “no” and “stop it.” She was spunky and gave the best hugs. She expressed how she felt and did not hold back. She was also very strong-willed and capable.
She sang along to “Feel The Light” from the movie “Home” and to “All Is Found” from the movie “Frozen II.” Her voice was cute and in harmony.
“Silly Lillie” was known by her teachers for always helping around the classroom by clearing up, organizing, and helping other students by holding their hands when transporting between school activities.
Our “Lil Bill” will be deeply missed. We know she is still with us and we are so grateful for the blessing to have been a part of each other’s lives ♡
A rosary for Lillie will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalen, 1710 Clower Street, San Antonio, TX 78201, followed by a funeral mass from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
