

Lillis was born to Zell Weaver Fuller and Mattie Bell Padgett, August 23rd 1928, in Mobile County, Alabama.
She graduated from Livingston State Teachers College(now University of West Alabama) where she met her adoring husband of over 66 years Frederick.
They landed in San Antonio due to an Army move to Fort Sam Houston where they decided to plant their roots and start a family. They had surprise twin boys, Frederick V and Roderick.
Lillis taught English at South San High School later moving on to Churchill High School where she ultimately retired. During her teaching career she also obtained her Masters Degree from St. Marys University.
She served as a docent for 15 years at the Institute of Texan Cultures, was a life member of both San Antonio Retired Teachers and Texas Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Greater San Antonio Quilt Guild and the San Antonio Genealogical and Historical Society.
She spent her golden years quilting, researching not only her own genealogy but helping others do the same, and participating in missions to help the less fortunate in Mexico with her beloved church, Harmony Hills Baptist.
She is survived by: Her brother Zell Edward Fuller and his partner of 24 years Judy White, and her three granddaughters, April, Kelly, and Erin along with 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the love of her life Frederick, along with both sons, Frederick V and Roderick.
A visitation for Lillis will be held Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218. Following the visitation will be a committal service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218.
