Lily’s wishes were that her body be donated to science to serve others and that wish has been honored by her children.
Lily was a force of nature. She had a commanding presence and giant personality that was undeniable to all who knew her. She had the ability to be charming and formidable at the same time. She loved deeply, and she had strong opinions. Often those two dynamics meant that anyone who had a relationship with her got to experience both fireworks and generosity. Love and combat. In short, life with Lily was never boring!
Mom was ahead of her time; she was an ambitious and hardworking businesswoman during a time when both minorities and women experienced adversity. She was fiercely independent and taught her children the value of hard work.
Family was important to Lily, we all have fond memories of our home on McKinley Street when she would have gatherings every Sunday so we could experience large family life with our aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Her children are all grateful that we could all be together one last time. We pray that she is free from all suffering and is surrounded only with peace and love.
