

Linda Eleanor Mizera, 87, of San Antonio, Texas passed away December 26, 2011, with her family by her side. She was born in Karnes City, Texas on September 6, 1924 to Max and Ella Otto. She married Edward Mizera on September 8, 1951. She retired from Civil Service after 20 years of service and she volunteered for income tax assistance for 25 years. Linda was also part of the Windcrest Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Linda was an avid square dancer and fisherwoman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Ella Otto; husband, Edward Mizera; her sister, Hulda Sickenius; her brothers, Fred and Henry Otto. She is survived by her son, Donald Mizera and his wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Andrew Mizera and wife, Jennifer and Laura Mizera; great-grandchildren, Jaden and Easton Mizera; sisters, Nelda Bueche and Adela Zimmerman; brother, Walter Otto and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at John Calvin Presbyterian Church, 8102 Midcrown, 78239. Burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery will be private.
